Phenom!

I rate this 5 out of 5. I found K.C.'s novel, Bait, on a promotional site and fell in love. In fact, I wanted to read it so badly, I downloaded Kindle and got my Amazon Account for that purpose - to read the rest of Bait. Well, to all those who read that one . . . read Hunter. It's even better than the first! Love, love, love it :)

Better than most YA books,available

First off, I wasn't paid or recompensed in any way for my review. No free books or anything like that. Now then, on with the show.....
Most YA series that start with a free book are full of plot holes, unreasonable/stupid dialogue, repetitive descriptions or even worse .... millions of typos!
I'm so glad to say that wasn't the case here. The story and content were just this side shy of mature, and that's the way YA fiction should be. Not epic-length dry tomes yu feel should be covered in dust - the thick kind, you know? It doesn't want to wipe off, so you have to get cleaner and really rub it off? Well, none of that here, folks!!
While some of the characters are slightly 2-dimensional, most are fleshed out, and you feel as if you could picture them. Even better, you care about them (almost weird nowadays since most suck)! There were a few times that I rolled my own eyes (a flaw of Bay-Lee's, repeatedly mentioned) at how slow she was on the uptake, but she was believable as a teenager w/some bewildering problems. The plot was pretty solid, and the twists were refreshing. Seriously, I actually want to give clues, but alas! I didn't think to put the '*spoilers*' warning in here. Oh well, so sad. Guess you're gonna have to read the books yourself, huh?
I'm a Beta-reader, so misspelled and the incorrect use of words drives me bonkers. I even use the 'notes' option in my kindle to correct the ones I find, just because it bugs me when (for instance), 'faze' is written instead of 'phase' - I'm a little OCD like that. Just a little , though.... *big, stupid grin*. In the two books of the series so far, I found maybe a total of 30 typos between them, and there are often HUNDREDS in one book alone (especially free ones, as I mentioned before). I know, I was pretty surprised, too!!
There are no explicit sex scenes (or vague ones for that matter!), so unlike some questionable YA books, this is actually appropriate for below 18, but also interesting enough for adults (speaking as a 40-something adult myself). There are a lot of fight scenes, but only one (from book #1) was descriptive enough to make me imagine it in a 'yuck' factor kind of way. It was somewhat gory, but still kept short.
If you want a fun story to read in a day, I suggest you snap these up and get going! Now I've gotta go, too. Real life is breathing down my neck. Again. Crap.

Excellent paranormal series and great characters! Van Helsing clan, werewolves, vampires, wreaths and banshee, not to mention all the young vampire slayer in training. Love story and action adventure...yummy!!!!
