This book is helping me become a better Java programmer

Admittedly, I am still reading this book (hey, it's a couple hundred pages), but I really wanted to help get the word out on this book, as it has already helped me to become a better Java programmer! Many books either introduce a programming language or focus on a specific technology to use with a language. Maintainable Java however focuses on the core of programming in Java for programmers who already know the language, but want to work in it more efficiently.
From beginning to end, the book presents tip after tip that makes me as a reader say "oh yeah, I got to do that!" And, like I said, I'm still reading the book... but, as the book is organized as "Tip 1" through "Tip 120" rather than chapters, it is a book that is very managable to read in small doses and come back to. I've been able to read a few tips in my spare time, and then return to coding the next day with them as part of my programmers toolbelt, as the tips are things that I have been able to use right away as a Java programmer.
On a side note, if you work with a Java programming team that actually has time for some quality training, the tips in this book would make great training curriculum -- the whole concept of writing "Maintainable Java" code presented in this book seems like it would save time and money in the long run.

Increase a teams productivity!

Much like Robert's first book - Hardcore Java, this book provides tips/tricks that many experienced Java developers now consider best practices. Developers know the 80/20 (or 90/10 if you are pessimistic) for project scoping; this this book covers the 20% of best practices that many professional developers just haven't learned yet. If you are looking to be a expert core Java developer, this book can take you the last 20%. If you are a new Java developer, get years of 'experience' just by following the tips in this book.

Good for all Developers

Unfortunately it looks like the company submitting the ebook messed up the conversion. If you look past this, there is a ton of great information for all levels of Java Developers. I have work that they are working on fixing the ePub formatting issues.
